Answer:
- You need to fast for a minimum of three hours (no food or water) prior your scheduled appointment. Ibn Umar RA reported that the Messenger of Allah SAWS said, "Hijamah on an empty stomach is best. In it is a cure and a blessing. It improves the intellect and the memory..." Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah 3487
- It is highly recommended to take a hot (not burning hot) shower about an hour prior treatment, this assists in bringing the blood to the surface and helps it to flow better during the procedure.
- Be in a state of wudhu (ablution)
- Give some sadaqah (charity) beforehand.
- Every New Client is required to complete and sign a 'Medical History Form' within the first consultation.

5. Does Hijamah/Wet Cupping hurt?

Some clients have certain pictures about Hijamah in their head, before they even had their treatment, and they automatically feel scared. Most of the time they are 'first-timers' or sisters with bad experiences. This increases the level of pain, some may feel.
The best way I can describe it is, the incisions are superficial and made only on the top layer of the skin. There is nothing to be scared of.

6. Will I faint or get sick?
Answer:
Very few people do. Sometimes this happens to people who do not respond well to seeing blood. It is very rare that people feel sick, but if they do it is important to understand that Hijamah is the fastest way to detoxify your body so it may go into a bit of shock. However, it is not dangerous and is not classified as aside effect.

10. How long will the cupping marks remain?
Answer:
These bruises can stay up to two weeks and gradually fade. Some clients do not get bruises at all, and some have very dark ones. Again, it depends on the type of skin and health of the client.
In the case of wet cupping there will be marks from the superficial incisions. These will close up within 24 hours and fade within the same time as the marks In sha' Allah.

What to do after my cupping treatment?
Answer:
After Hijamah, billions of biological reactions and triggering of body's natural detoxing and healing process starts. That's why it's important to consider the following points:
- Straight after you treatment you should break your fast with Dates, and drink some water, both will be provided by me.
- Do not take a bath/shower for 24 hours. This is to reduce the risk of infections.
- No red meat or dairy products for 48 hours. Digesting these foods require increased energy levels
and more blood flow, and therefore reduce the blood flow to the cupped areas, slowing the
healing process.
- Drink plenty of water!
- Do not over eat.
- Refrain from caffeine and sugary drinks
- Stay away from refined products like white sugar and salt, processed foods, and vegetable oils.
- Apply Blackseed oil 2-3 times a day to cupped areas to: alleviate discomfort, sooth skin, help
itchiness, aid healing, reduce scarring and the risk of infections.
- Do NOT scratch the incisions!
- In case of dizziness, drink a glass of water mixed with a tablespoon of raw honey.
- Clients should pace their-selves and not over do it, but be lightly active.
- Avoid sexual relations with spouse for 24 hours.
- Do NOT sleep within the first hour after Hijamah/Cupping, as it will slow down the healing process.

What to expect after my cupping treatment?
Answer:
A sense of relaxation normally follows the treatment due to improved circulation and muscle relaxation, but also a warm feeling throughout the body can be expected and lightness.
In case the client feels cold, shivery or extremely tired (yes that can be the case), a warm herbal tea with raw honey and some rest is highly recommended.
Over the next few days you may notice changes in your:
- Bowel and Urinary habits
- Sleep Pattern
- Moods/Emotional Levels
- You may experience a change of appetite
- Skin breakouts
- Tiredness/Feeling drained or low an energy
These are nothing to be concerned about. It is simply your body getting used to self healing. Your body is now dealing with and adjusting to changes in your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state. YOU MAY FEEL WORSE BEFORE YOU FEEL BETTER! Your body has just been kick-started. Like many other therapies, cupping therapy isn't a 'magic cure'. The full benefits of this beautiful therapy are usually achieved after a few sessions. And Allah SWT knows best.
